Travel Reveal!!!!!

wanderlust-travel

H E Y! =) Hi my fellow bloggers! How are you guys today? TGIF, Happy Friday =) or as always happy day to you as it is not going to be Friday forever so if you happen to read this on a Saturday, Sunday, Monday, etc. Happy day to you =) Here in Toronto I have the weekend ahead of me to look forward to which I have a few plans up my sleeve want a tiny preview? It will consist of some family bonding, birthday celebrations (my sister’s birthday passed on March 16th), hot yoga, and relaxation with my boyfriend. I think I have a fairly eventful weekend ahead so once I get more into it I will give you all a weekend rundown but for now it remains unknown! What is not unknown is where I am travelling to next month =) I have mentioned in a couple of my posts that I would be off on an adventure sooner than later but I had not mentioned where I would be going. So! I think with that said guys, it is time for me to spill the beans

With the passing of my sister’s 30th birthday this week I thought it would be a good time to reveal where I will be going as the point of this trip is to celebrate milestones which are our birthdays for the year of 2017. My boyfriend and I will both be turning 25 later on this year and as stated earlier my sister has hit the big 3-0! Last year, we chatted about this and said it would be nice to treat ourselves to a trip that would have an impact on our lives, make us see things differently. Now, I feel that any travel in the world can bring great experiences and will have an impact on your life but neither of us have actually travelled far and wide! The furthest my boyfriend and I have gone would be to Jamaica and my sister would be to Portugal.  Most of our trips have been to resorts which are very nice for relaxation and partying but we have never really done trips where we are out in the actual city or town interacting with the locals and experiencing their way of life. So, after much discussion and back and forth we finally came to a conclusion earlier on in February in regards to where we would be headed. Any guesses guys?

During the second week of April my sister, boyfriend and I will be travelling to THAILAND for the duration of 10 days =) Woahoo!!!!! I am super! Excited for this trip and can’t wait to actually get there and experience a totally different lifestyle. I feel that Thailand has much to offer ranging from the city, to the temples, to their cuisine, to their various strips of shopping, to the interaction with wildlife, to the beaches, to the parties, etc. the list can go on and on! I must admit that 10 days seems to be long but from what I heard it is pretty short when travelling to Thailand seeing that it is on the other side of the world from where we are currently but! Work calls and that was the maximum we could have done so we plan to make the best of it and also have a pretty packed schedule! Here is a bit more details on our trip! =)

Our first stop in Thailand will be to the big city of Bangkok! Did you know from Toronto to Bangkok it is a 22 hour flight!? Our flight is not non-stop so we do get a little break in between to stretch our legs but our initial flight from Toronto to Shanghai, China will be 15 hours! Definitely the longest flight I have ever been on and I am a bit nervous about this as I tend to get very!!! Impatient and restless, actually I think all 3 of us do so! I have no clue how we will keep ourselves entertained!

Thailand

Once we arrive in Bangkok we will be staying there for 2 nights/3 days. I hope to see a ton of the temples, experience their culture, visit their floating market, go to Khaosan Rd., and eat delicious street food including some adventurous eats! There is a ton that we want to do in Bangkok and we also want to experience a bit of their nightlife while in the city which works out great for us as we will be staying at the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit which has an amazing roof bar! After our stay in Bangkok the adventure continues as we head north to Chiang Mai for again 2 nights. In this region of Thailand I am really looking forward to viewing the scenery, the temples, embracing their culture, learning how to cook their cuisine, and most importantly to me is visiting the elephant sanctuary. I totally love animals and wouldn’t like anything more than to be up close with any animal and interact with them respectfully. While in Chiang Mai we plan to visit a sanctuary that respects the elephants and do not allow or encourage elephant rides or anything of that sort, our purpose for our visit will be to learn more about these intelligent animals and embrace the bond we make with them! We will be residing in a very nice hotel while in Chiang Mai, unfortunately at this time I cannot quite put my tongue on the name but I guess a little mystery is good so I have something to share with you when I am back =). Also from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is about a 1 hour and 15 minute flight, we will be on and off planes quite often!

From Chiang Mai we head south to Phuket, the area of Thailand known for its beautiful beaches! The flight duration is approximately 2 hours so again not long! While in Phuket we are looking forward to attending some beach parties, perhaps doing some island hopping and my boyfriend is really interested in doing spear fishing, I am not sure if I’d be able to do that! We will be spending about 3 nights in Phuket and this will be where we are ending off our trip but…

Before we end our trip we will be making one necessary stop to a close by island called Koh Phi Phi. To get there we will be transporting by ferry which if I remember correctly is about a 1.5 hour ride. We will spend one night in Koh Phi Phi which I have been told is a party island, so for sure we will be doing some partying =)

When our night is up in Koh Phi Phi we head back to Phuket for 1 night and then depart back to Toronto…22 hours here we come! =) So guys! There you have it! That is where I will be for a good part of next month and I am totally looking forward to it all. I can’t wait to be in the warm weather experiencing a ton of new things! I am super excited for my boyfriend and sister as well as they will get to see so much new things, I love seeing people experience things for some reason it makes me happy! =) If any of you have travelled to Thailand please give me some pointers and heads up! We have not booked any tours or set any specific plans as yet as we felt it may be better to do so when we get down there but if you think otherwise let me know =) But until then I will be here getting prepared and all which! I actually have not bought anything so far for my trip, I am planning on travelling light as we will be getting on flights frequently so I would definitely appreciate any tips for packing light as I usually pack my life + more ha! I hope you guys enjoyed reading this and perhaps it has sparked you to look into some travel plans for this year as well! If you have any questions please let me know and as always take care guys =)

Bye for now! Until the next Lifestyleforyoureyes Post
